Zeituna has over 15 years of specialization in pastoralism, drylands and ASALs and currently managing a portfolio on Food Systems, Water, Peace Building and Resilience among others in the Horn of Africa. Before joining SDC, Zeituna managed several programmes working with different International and National NGOs in Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia. Over the years, Zeituna has worked with communities, civil society organizational, private sector, National and County Governments, Regional Authorities in different capacities and advocated for better polices, legislations and practices related to drylands resource management, peace and conflict resolution, climate change adaptation and mitigation. Zeituna is a climate scientist by profession and holds two Master Degrees in Social science and Climate Change Science from the University of Nairobi.
