Tapiwa Gomo

Head of Communication, UNOCHA Regional Office for Southern and Eastern Africa

Tapiwa Gomo is the Head of Communication and Information Management at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Regional Office for Southern and Eastern Africa, based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has more than two and a half decades of experience in development and humanitarian communication across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia, working with the United Nations (OCHA) and international organizations. His work focuses on humanitarian coordination and advocacy, information management and crisis analysis, disaster risk and climate-related emergencies, strategic communications, and humanitarian financing and donor engagement. Tapiwa holds a PhD in Media Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
