Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Anglican Development Services Eastern (ADSE)
Lydia works with the Anglican Development Services Eastern (ADSE), a development organization partnering with Christian Aid and Adaptation Consortium and working in Machakos, Kitui, Makueni and Garissa Dioceses (counties), as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ADSE. She has been in the Makueni Climate Change Fund Board for six yearsand working with Makueni and Kitui counties since 2013, piloting a climate financing mechanism called County Climate Change Fund Mechanism. This is a mechanism which was piloted in Five counties – Makueni, Kitui, Garissa, Wajir and Isiolo. ADSE was in charge of Makueni and Kitui. The Mechanism had four components - County Climate Change Fund, Climate governance structures, participatory risk assessment and climate information, Monitoring and Evaluation and reporting.
Muithya’s worked with communities from 1995 and has hands-on experience in development work including participatory vulnerability and capacity assessments, planning, designing projects, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Twenty seven projects prioritized by communities were done in 2016 to 2018 and are still benefiting communities such as Mtito-a-ndei (Ngai ndethya) mega Sand Dam, Masue Rock Catchment and many more.
Currently Lydia is working with the counties in the South Eastern side of Kenya to implement projects prioritized by communities and supporting the counties to strengthen the governance structures.
