Patrick Katelo Issako is the Founder and Executive Director of the Pastoralist Community Initiative and Development Assistance (PACIDA) – a leading humanitarian and sustainable development organisation operating in northern Kenya (pastoralist counties) and Southern Ethiopia. A holder of a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution and Peace Building and a Bachelor’s in Sociology, Mr Katelo has led PACIDA in the last 17 years, propelling the organisation to be the leading humanitarian actor, leading in disaster response interventions in Marsabit, Samburu, Isiolo counties of Kenya, Southern and Southern Nation of Ethiopia. Through his leadership, the organisation has also built a reputable profile in climate change response, education, sustainable livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions, peace and governance, among others.

He plays a critical role as an active official of the community practicing Small Arm in East Africa Region. He completed his Masters in Conflict Resolution and Peace Building and played a crucial role in community peace dialogue and voluntarily disarmament in the Northern Corridor covering Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia. A great team player in peace and negotiation among the worrying Communities of Northern Kenya. A well re known Social Scientist and rolled out several development wing like Community Conservancies to minimize human and wild life Conflict. Currently also National Chairman of Kenya Camel Association and got national recognition awarded HSC by H.E the president of Republic of Kenya. He is a polished expert in conflict resolution, disaster response, servant leadership, rural development among other areas.
