Evance has extensive experience in agriculture and climate risk management, with over 10 years in the (re)insurance field. He has contributed immensely to the development of national multi-risk agriculture insurance schemes in Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Ghana, and is frequently consulted on agricultural finance and risk management in both the public and private sectors. Currently, Evance oversees agriculture and climate risk underwriting at Continental Reinsurance Plc. for the Africa region from the Nairobi office. He is an agronomist and holds a master's degree in agricultural and applied economics, along with several short courses in climate risk management and rural finance.
