Emanuela is currently serving as the regional environmental officer for WFP’s regional bureau in Nairobi. She focuses on developing and implementing low-carbon, sustainable energy, waste, and water solutions to manage and reduce WFP’s impact on the environment. Managing the Regional Environmental team, she provides technical support and strategic guidance to Country Offices on environmental and sustainability projects in Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda. Prior to joining WFP in 2016, she has worked in the private sector in the Netherlands and in India on sustainable energy and sanitation, carbon footprinting and in corporate social responsibility. Emanuela holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Development from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
