Andrea Berloffa

Senior Emergency and Rehabilitation Officer, FAO

Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Trento, where he completed a thesis titled “Economic Growth of Vietnam in the Context of Southeast Asia Development.”

He has built extensive professional experience working with international non-governmental organizations, the European Commission, and the United Nations.

Since joining the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 2006, Andrea has held several positions, including project manager, food security cluster coordinator, emergency coordinator, and head of programme. In these roles, he has supported responses to both man-made and natural crises in Somalia, Pakistan, Syria, Jordan, Myanmar, and Yemen. Through his work in emergency and fragile contexts, Andrea has gained a strong understanding of humanitarian and development systems aimed at addressing both immediate needs and the underlying drivers of vulnerability.

Since joining the FAO Resilience Team for Eastern Africa (RTEA) he leads the implementation of humanitarian interventions, coordinates need assessments and data collection, contributes to sectoral analysis, and supports the development of response strategies and programs.
